The source material for the installation Die Zeit is a randomly selected issue of the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT, dated March 16 of the year 2000. A body of text emerges as a walk-through massive source of information. Through the handwritten transcription of the printed word, a process in which the material flows once through the body and the hand back onto the paper, the typeset word is transformed into a personal and organic script. The psyche and state of mind automatically inscribe themselves into the mass, which at first glance always appears the same. Upon closer inspection though, one can spot conditions like speed, pressure, flow, exhaustion, aggression, but also harmony and calm within the typographic image. As the respective pen runs out of ink, shades of black and gray play out across the surface, creating an inscribed rhythm. To disrupt the flow from the first to the last word as little as possible, punctuation marks such as periods and commas, as well as the hyphen at the end of a line, were left out. The spatial installation of the 894 handwritten DIN A4 pages also returns the two-dimensional printed word towards its three-dimensional volume in space.

Die Zeit was exhibited in 2000 at the Festival of Young Talents at the trade fair halls in Offenbach/Main
