ENTER

Allgemeine Hypothekenbank Rheinboden AG, Frankfurt/Main, 2002-2003

Word Cubes; MDF Wood; White acrylic paint; Plots

A varied collection of suggestions, demands, and prompts set off a battle of words. The direct word-to-word neighborhoods create tension in some places. This tension can build or resolve, depending on the position. While some words create positive spaces in peaceful proximity, pressure simmers elsewhere on the field. Fifty-six commands may embody the aftermath of a dialogue between two or more parties.

The installation was rearranged twelve times in the bank's foyer over the course of a one-year exhibition period, both in its verbal structure and its architecture, in order to continually form new linguistic and spatial constellations.

ENTER has been exhibited on multiple occasions: 2004 / NORA PAN Interim Exhibition Pavilion in Darmstadt, in dialogue with the work TAKT; 2009 / Kunstforum Löwenhof e.V., Frankfurt, in dialogue with the work Balance; 2015 / Japan Center Frankfurt, in dialogue with the work The City, it turned Red!.
