If a patchwork quilt is a passenger traveling through time, passed down from generation to generation, then KING-SIZED is a fragile character. Copies of found scribbles and documents surfaced together cartographically, portray thoughts, hopes and fears, presenting some of the final papers of my father, Joe Nasty. Sewn-in blank spaces allow specific thoughts or facts the necessary room to unfold, while others charge and collide through their immediate proximity. Welcome to the heart of AMERICAN HOME.

A system of handwritten colorfully designed movie titles and numerical codes form the facade of the Nasty-Collection. The covers of over six hundred VHS tapes, dating from 1975 to the turn of the millennium, are brought together in their originally given order, displayed two-dimensionally on canvas. Welcome to the soul of AMERICAN HOME.

COLLECTING THE COLLECTOR I-IV, 2019

Approaching the Nasty Collection as a vast linguistic construction site allows close-ups and cuts that reveal numerous details. These elements trigger a process of transformation. Rearrangements give rise to four poems, and form: DEAR SKY, QUIET KING, PELICAN PASSENGER, and DR. TV, linking two collectors.

THE ALPHABETS / Joe´ s Alphabet, Old Alphabet, New Alphabet, 2019

By extracting individual letters - a significant intervention in the handwritten alphabet - the possibility of creating entirely new variations and future writings is born, shaping new linguistic constructions. Through this method the work The Alphabets came to life, completing the cycle of engaging with the handwriting of a truely close person: A father.
